                                                                    The young ones joining the elder forces had the same enthusiasm and did their might playfully just like that giving us greater energy    and took out our  tiresomeness totally.Everyone  thought that it his or her duty and things went on  for months  without any snag. KTV also was very happy in the company of his grand children. Some times he used to cut jokes also in their gathering,Though bedridden for roughly about twenty  months  ha saw that he never acrued bed sore .His technique was to ask me to lift him bodily and keep  him on the large outer varandah..If some of the young ones were readily  available ,I would have their help or if not , I have done the job  myself. Being in my forties at that time , I was physically strong then.If I am not available , he will make use of the milkman Kannan  who was moving with us as a family member though he was a konar. Because of Usha's attitude to,people at large everybody was friendly with us.May it be postman ,a vegetable vendor, milkman or even a passerby.! After two hours he would ask us to lift him back to the hall.He would ask us to keep in the sitting position.For this somebody should be supporting him.He cannot sit for a long time .So he would ask us to revert to lying position.

                                   His health condition being this, his demand was different.Every now and then , he began to perch us asking us to book two railway tickets to Chennai one for him  and the other for KP. Sensing that myself  and Usha were very tired , KP asked us to go to a  cinema theater, see a picture and come back with an old  railway ticket  and hand over to him with a particular date. say 16 of the particular month.But the year and month in the ticket were old. It was a used ticket.. Initially , we were not prepared for this idea since we had to tell a lie. But KP was of the opinion that for fifteen days we could be peaceful. Otherwise there would be contineous perching from him.In order to  avoid that in the interest  of everyone, we did. After a long time we went to a theater. Returned home and  as we entered the house, the question from him was about the ticket.  .He asked for the ticket which I  handed over to him. He was able to find out the date but not month or year. On the 13th of the month he became psychologically prepared for the travel in 3 more days  and asked for his usual travel trunk, clothes and other sundries . The problem again started. Now we prepared  a friend to come and  say that all the trains have been cancelled due to rain havoc and flood threat and fury of nature. How much it is true that for coming out of one lie, nine lies have to be uttered!.                                                                            Once again the problem was solved only temporarily. On the 20th of the same month a friend of his came to see him.First question put to the friend was about the restoration of the tracks and running of the trains,! The friend said that there were neither cancellation nor restoration.Before KTV opened his mouth we called him separately and requested him to adjust his reply.

                         Then Usha asked him why he wanted to go Madras. He replied that when  I  have got four sons ,why should you two alone must suffer. Let them also do their bit for me. But she replied back that neither of us said we are suffering. If that is the reason , you should be here only until I say that we are suffering. We are only happy about having you and Amma with us. This worked wonders in KTV's mind . Immediately he replied that there after he would not talk about going to Madras.Both became more friendly and she used to sit by his side and read Narayaneeyam ,Bhag avadgithai and so on which brought him great solace !

                  KALAKAD THOTHA THRI VADYAR ( 3 )                                       NR had three daughters and no sons.The first son in law stayed with NR.  The second    daughter died young leaving a male child. The third daughter was living with her husband in a nearby village and made occasional visits to her parent's house. As time passed NR was checking the old records regarding his landed properties .He was so rich that he was owning  around  800 acres of wet lands of  paddy fields  in addition to other dry lands and groves.He was cross  checking the tally of produce from different lands.The employees in charge of these matters like accoutants and other servants could not give convincing answers to him.
