KALAKAD THOTHATHRI VADYAR ( 3 )

                  KALAKAD THOTHA THRI VADYAR ( 3 )

NR had three daughters and no sons. The first son in law stayed with NR.  The second    daughter died young leaving a male child. The third daughter was living with her husband in a nearby village and made occasional visits to her parent's house. As time passed NR was checking the old records regarding his landed properties .He was so rich that he was owning  around  800 acres of wet lands of  paddy fields  in addition to other dry lands and groves. He was cross  checking the tally of produce from different lands. The employees in charge of these matters like accoutants and other servants could not give convincing answers to him. At this stage KTV's  help was requisitioned by NR.. KTV scrutinised the entire set of records and found that NR in fact owned an additional 150 acres of lands at Kalakad as well as some villages near Nagerkoil.for which no yield is shown on records. Some peasants had been enjoying these properties for a long time. Both went to the respective areas got the peasants officially evicted ..NR was very happy about KTV'S help and gave him more managerial powers in the house as days went by.The first son in law used to  spend his time in prayers only and never interfered in such activities..There is a village by name Padmaneri at 4 kilometers distance whose entire population was NR's servants. At a stage all of them were reporting to KTV who began to be called " pannaiyar " a title which generally goes with people like NR. NR  died requesting KTV to take care of the family  until the daughters grew older, divide the properties among  them and they are settled on their own.More or less it became a full time job to look after N R's family also in addition to his own multivarious activities.and busy schedule.

Sankarathan was jobless at that time and therefore KTV employed him as a care taker of  a small portion of land of NR,under his direct control for which he was paid.First daughtter of NR was J.who used  to consult KTV on all decisions except personal family  matters..But S could not do justification because of his extramatrimonial affairs with some harijan lady working in the paddy field.Once KTV came to know of this , he drove S  out  of the village declaring that he will not see him literally. He had been housed in the just opposite house to start with.S left the house , leaving the family in the lurch, his wife Ammaniakka and three children.Bata Nrayanan Bhagavathi and Nagarajan.KTV tried to teach vedas to Nettur Anna but was of no use.He was more interested in running hotels taking the queue from his cousins..He supported the suffering sister Ammaniakka and had loss in the hotel business which he had to wind up .He went to Manapparai near Thiruchirappalli and joined railway stall to prepare the famous "   Manappaarai murukku " .By his handwork, Manappaa rai murukku became famous through Tamilnadu.
